UKMA is the headquarters for the United States Taekwondo Instructors' Union. The USTIU is a nonprofit organization that was founded by the late 10th Dan Grandmaster Moo Yong Lee. It was formed to create a non-political organization for Taekwondo instructors. Its mission is to help each other further the advancement of TKD for their schools, students and colleagues, their communities, and practitioners in general. Given some of the recent political challenges with several organizations, the USTIU offers Black Belt Certifications without political affiliation.
