TaeKwonDo is a traditional Korean martial art which, translated literally, means “the art of foot and hand fighting.” It combines sharp, strong angular movements with graceful and free-flowing circular motions to produce a harmonious marriage of beauty and power. With the addition of devastating kicking techniques, TaeKwonDo is a complete, integrated, and unique system of self-defense and personal improvement. It is no wonder that TaeKwonDo is the fastest-growing martial art in the world today! Its appeal is universal.
Training in TaeKwonDo provides far more than just increased odds of safety if "your ever a victim of a violet crime". While we do train to protect ourselves physically, it is only one benefit of taking classes.TaeKwonDo increases physical fitness. Taking classes can provide excellent cardio exercise in addition to toning muscle groups. If you are looking for a way to lose weight, and do not like the drudgery of a gym -- then TaeKwonDo can be just what your looking for.
TaeKwonDo increases mental fitness. Proper execution of techniques requires you to develop bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. While performing strikes in rapid succession you are working your brain's ability to think quickly. Studies have also shown that there is a strong correlation between exercise and mental acuity.
TaeKwonDo increases spirituality. Since the core of TaeKwonDo are the tenants, a focus of positive conduct is always underlying every class. Focusing on these tenants on a regular basis will have positive impacts in your professional and personal life.
